So I have been up to a lot since my last post. I believe I left off with Universal...
After Universal I spent two days at Disneyland. It was a lot of fun though Disney World is better. I pretty much divided the park up in half and did one half each day. The second day I was having horrible leg cramps so I rented a motor chair thingy, which was awesome because I got to cut ahead in lines. I still had to wait in the handicap line (behind any other handicapped people that got there first) which could get long as they have a policy of only letting one person/group of handicapped on at a time. But waiting 45 minutes for Finding Nemo and being able to sit was a lot better than waiting two hours and standing in the sun. I recommend everyone rent a scooter. You don't have to show a handicap, just pay the fee. It could be very useful considering that Disney doesn't offer any sort of front of the line pass thing. But anyway, the park was fun. The tourist as always were exceedingly annoying, but hey what can you do?
After that I headed for Vegas. I drove half way the first day and stopped to explore Joshua Tree National Park some. The the next day I finished the drive into Vegas. Along the way I got caught in what locals call a gully washer. Basically I got caught in a nasty flash flood in the middle of the desert. There was a VERY nasty storm and literally within a minute it went from dry roads to a complete flood. The road I was on had a little dip about every fifteen to twenty five feet and each of the little dips turned into a raging river. Some of the rivers I carefully drove through and others I sat and waited at for a few minutes. I got some really cool pictures of the rivers washing over the road and eroding away the desert on the other side. It was really harry there for a little bit but after about forty minutes it all pretty much cleared up and I was able to make my way into Vegas.
Vegas was absolutely amazing. I stayed at the Venetian which I HIGHLY recommend to everyone. It was so beautiful and opulent. It was like staying in Versailles with all the artwork and palatial decorating schemes. My room was 650 square feet. It had a bedroom and a living room and the bathroom was almost as big as some of the smaller hotel rooms I have stayed in; it had a shower and a tub and two sinks and the toilet was set back into its own closet. I payed extra for a room with a view and it was worth it. The view was great during the day and at night. My first night in Vegas was filled with finishing Harry Potter. :) My second day I slept in from my late night with Harry and then I had did some shopping as I needed to fill a Rx and buy a nicer outfit for my Vegas nights. That was the only real down side of Vegas is that you aren't taken as seriously if you dress too casually or too common. No one is rude or not nice. It is hard to explain, but you notice a difference when you are dressed well. I think it just extends from the idea that if you are dresses nicely then you may be worth some money and Vegas is all about money. So asa result everyone dresses "up one" than what the would normally wear. And the women have to do more than the men. The men get off easy. They just have to comb their hair and throw on some J crew or Amberchrombie and they are good to go. But we women have to put in a bot more effort and do our hair and do our make-up. Anyway, so I I decided I should go find a nice evening outfit, so I did some shopping. That night I went to see Cirque De Sole's KA which was AMAZING TIMES INFINITY. Not only did they do great acrobatic stunts and such but they did it on a stage that was often moving, rotating, at an 80 degree angle or all three. After that I went to see a 12:40 showing of the Simpsons Movie which was great and very funny. And everyone should see it. Oh and before the show I went to dinner at one of Wolfgang Puck's restaurants which was extremely delicious. The next day, my last day, I did some more shopping at the canal shops of the Venetian which were so cool. The venetian has these canal shops that are made to look just like you are walking around the streets of Venice. The shops are set up along "squares" just like a village and the ceiling was painted blue with fluffy white clouds and the lighting was just the right tone to look like a nice sunny day. You really felt like you were outside. And they had street performers come out and do shows in the squares. Plus there was a canal with gondolas complete with singing gondoliers. It was very beautiful. I spent a bunch of money on some gifts for a few people. That night I did some gambling . I mostly played craps which was A LOT of fun. I didn't win big, but I was doing really well for an hour or so. I only spent about 580 on all of the gaming so i didn't go belly up. It was a lot of fun though.
Well there is more to tell, but I am tired of typing. I will try to update tomorrow morning before I leave the hotel and the internet connection.
