Thanksgiving was tasty. I went to my friend Kate's house (I've started referring to it as Kate's house, but I'm actually friends with 7 of the 8 people who live there) at around 11 to make pie. Pie is delicious. I accidentally used sweetened condensed milk instead of evaporated milk, but since she didn't have molasses, that might have been for the best. It turned out fine. Kate's friend Charlie made a ridiculously large turkey (22 lbs), which they covered in cheesecloth dipped in melted butter. (Butter is a theme.) I hung out there all day, played some darts (I am terrible at darts) and did some homework. Other food at this dinner included: my roasted potatoes (always tasty), garlic mashed potatoes (with a stick of butter in them and so much garlic -- I don't usually like mashed potatoes but they were amazing), candied yams, wild rice and vegetable bake, two kinds of gravy (one was vegetarian chipotle, one was made of pan drippings), homemade French bread, garlic bread (with a stick of butter in it), corn bread, canned and from-berries cranberry sauce... I think that's it. Oh, that is what we started with. After that, a few people showed up late with samosas, some kind of soup, and more potatoes. For dessert there was my pie, something Asya claimed was an apple pie but was more like an apple cobbler that accidentally turned out meringue-y and was excellent, cranberry nut bread and banana bread. There were 17 of us and it was really fun. I'm so glad I have upperclassmen friends with houses and kitchens and stuff. I'm glad I went. Tonight we are doing "Thanksgiving 2 The Sequel But This Time We Will Do It Backwards," where we star with dessert and go backwards through the leftovers. Woo!

I downloaded a trial of iWork today because I'm sick of not having a proper word processing program and Pages is fucking awesome. It lets you type diacritics in the IPA! It has 140 templates! I'm kind of in love with it. I also plan on using Keynote for the presentation I have on Monday. Woo fully functioning software!
