Yeah, yeah
I've been a failure at updating recently. I went to see Juno in Minneapolis and it was AWESOME and I am now addicted to the soundtrack. I have seriously not listened to anything else. It is OH SO GOOD. Plus, Juno is coming here next week and I'm dragging my parents and inkstain and her family and anyone else who wants to come (I live in the same place as more of my LJ friends again! Weird!).
I went back to work today. Clearly, the day before Christmas is the best POSSIBLE day to go back to my retail job! No, actually, it was fine. I had fun. I like my coworkers a lot. They were all really tired, because they've been working, you know, for like their jobs the whole time since I've been gone. We had really danceable music on today and Manda and I had a cross-store dance party. It was great. Plus there was lots of wrapping. I have rediscovered my deep, deep love of ribbon. Ribbon and I may be soul mates, y'all.
Did the Jewish Christmas thing and got Chinese food tonight. Oh, corn-syrupy Hot and Sour Soup that is as inauthentic as anything can be, I MISSED YOU! I was seriously craving it while I was gone. SO GOOD. I mean, empirically, it's terrible, but I LOVE IT. My mom and I watched 13 Going On 30 tonight. Very very feel good. We're going to pick my dad up at the airport tomorrow while all the goyim are off the roads (spellcheck recognizes 'goyim' but not 'y'all'?), making that the third time I'll have been to Burlington in a week, which is weird for me. (I went to a swing party at a place there with one of my college friends and flew into BVT. In the other order.)
Where are all my old Alias icons? Am I seriously just down to flexible Sark and Marshall with his mind blown? I need to express my emotions via Jennifer Garner! Oh, have I mentioned how me and my friend Anna are doing a massive Alias watching? She's never seen it before and we managed to finish Season 2 literally 4 hours before she left. It's, uh, not good for me. Like, I get way too upset over it. Season 3 may not be the best idea. (We're totally doing it anyway.) Anna's not expecting much, since I've been telling her how awful Season 3 is since before we started watching. Oh, and speaking of massive watching but not things that are bad, I've been getting really into Angel lately. Around the time where Angel was like, "I'm all dark and broody because of Dru and Darla, but not fun dark like when I'm Angelus!" so I just got through where Connor and Holtz go into the alternative demon dimension or whatever, which I'm guessing will trigger the end of smiley, baby-playing-with Angel, of whom I was rather fond. Oh well.
Speaking of d(a)emons, inkstain and I went to see the Golden Compass last night. I thought it was kind of eh. Not a huge fan. But then, I don't really like the book that much, as I recall. I like the Subtle Knife a lot better and then the Amber Spyglass the best (I know, I'm weird. I LIKE the wheely elephants and Mary's philosophizing and everything). The movie mostly made me want to reread the books a lot.
