Me Minus One Frigging Phaser
Having contacted the
USS Murgatroid and instructed them to proceed to our current location on
Starbase 668, Captain
Storvik is now on his way to the station's sickbay to find the
Mib Khan clone stationed here. This clone is not part of the Khanworld collective, but one of the Khans who had originally served on the Murgatroid - he was transferred to SB668 to serve some kind of "community service" after releasing his Trans-Gendering Mutational Retrovirus into the station's air supply. Storvik has said that he plans only to speak to Khan, but he has brought a phaser with him.
I have been left behind in our quarters with our daughter
T'Sorvik, and Storvik's wife T'Vit. We also have a phaser, in case this Khan cannot be trusted … or in case other Khans arrive. In case of any further threat to our daughter, in fact. This, the humans would say, is "good news." However, there is (for me) accompanying "bad news" in that I am not the one wielding said phaser. T'Vit has it, and insists upon bearing it herself. I suspect that she does not trust me; however, she has simply explained that it is her phaser, which she brought with her from the Murgatroid to the Ankh.
It is hardly my fault that I had no phaser on the Ankh, since I was a prisoner there, but she is impervious to my logical arguments in favor of transferring the phaser to me. At the very least, I can have no doubt as to her dedication to protect T'Sorvik. So, we wait, until Storvik's return; after which I am due a visit to the station's largest bar.
