This is unreal.
In two days.. I have the lead in an opera production at Mercer University..
I remember being stunned last year during Fiddler on the Roof that I was going to get one of the last bows at curtain call, and even now I'm still shocked that I had a supporting lead in a musical in an opera house.
But this current success didn't hit me until last night when we ran the curtain call for this show- it's called Tickets, Please, and it's an adaptation on a D.H Lawrence short story about a bunch of women who work on a train car in the early 1900's, and we take down this womanizer who has played us all (but I'm the only one who's really in love with him), and then at the end, we force him to actually pick one of us to marry, and he picks me, and I actually reject him. (It's pretty ironic, really, because I have a lot from which to draw for my motivation! Arg!)
So last night, my director is forming the curtain call, and I get the final bow.
(AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!)
That's kinda when it hit me.
How the heck did I get the lead in an opera production?!
I'm never going to be used to this!
Please don't wake me if I'm dreaming. :D
I'm so incredibly humbled, honored, excited, and.. scared. But more than anything, really stoked.
Wow.
