Excursion & exam
It's NICE to have the car to myself to be able to get out of the house! Went to see "Baby Mama" this afternoon before my prenatal exam. Very funny! I love both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Ending was a bit contrived but whatever. Sigorney Weaver, John Hodgman & Steve Martin all had great scenes - I laughed the entire way through.
Exam was fine. Kid could come any time now ... or hang out for a couple of weeks. Heartbeat is normal, belly size ditto. Internal exam (first one) shows 1.5 cm dilation, 50% effacement, -3 cm station. FWIW, doc doesn't think I'll make it to the due date, which is fine by me. I'd just as soon get this over with. My brain is a bit fried. They gave me the cup for the urine sample. I went to the bathroom, got everything ready ... and then forgot to actually collect the sample. Oops. Felt like a total idiot.
In other news, the husband's auntie sent us a package. Very sweet, except she left off the apartment # and didn't even put our proper names on the package - just a play on our last names (my maiden name & our married name). It's a miracle that our postman was able to decipher her pun and figure out which apartment to deliver to (especially since I don't think English is his first language & I haven't had any mail to my maiden name at this address).
