snow day
Well, not snow, but an office brown-out that knocked out the facilities. Which is a bummer, because I was actually sort-of looking forward to going to work. I mean, the apartment is hot (can't go upstairs at all) and the office is generally cool. Plus, a coworker is about to go out on maternity leave and this was to be her last day. I had a small gift I wanted to give her and now I won't be able to give it to her before her leave. Not that it really matters, because it will still be usable when the kid is older, but still...
It has been HELLACIOUSLY hot here in the Bay Area. Normally if it's hot during the day, it will at least be cooler at night, but the past 2 nights have been nasty hot. I tried to sleep on the new couch in the living room (which has A/C), but it was too firm. The husband and I have not yet installed A/C in the baby's room but we're already plotting buying another for our bedroom. Installation will be a PITA - we have sliding doors (+ sliding windows in baby's room). UGH.
Not sure what I'll do with myself for the rest of the day. Hydration & elevating my feets will be on the top of the list, sadly. This evening I'll get to see "Prince Caspian" with some friends, which should be a good time (and air conditioned!!! ;)
