Local Tourism: San Jose Museum of Art
The San Jose Museum of Art is not a world class institution but it does have some really nice modern stuff. The entry, for example, features super-enlarged pix of semiconductor factory scenes, plus stroboscope pix by Harold Edgerton, including the famous one of the apple as a bullet is passing through it.
The current exhibition features portraits by Mapplethorpe: Awesome collection! I was not able to take pix of those portraits but do have a few below the jump.
Final note: the gift shop is filled with cool stuff. Caution!!!
