More happy stuff:
Tuesday - An email from the husband announcing that our son had soiled his diaper. Honest, it made me laugh and I needed it then.
Wednesday - Amidst a crazy-busy day, a perfect session of teamwork with my technician. We were POWERING through the work at hand all while firing off sarcastic emails bitching about the tasks.

It was a good weekend, though not enough time at home doing what needed to be done. The husband and I went to the East Bay for a delightful holiday par-tay on Saturday evening. Cookies & deliciously boozy 'nog were consumed while EM Jr was entertained by his grandparents, who cannot be thanked enough in general for their awesomeness. We returned before it was too late and joined them in watching "Baby Mama". I had seen it in the theater but it was just as good on the small screen. Tina Fey is quite awesome.

Sunday we got out of my parents' house late after taking a Christmas portrait. My mother (as I noted Monday) took the baby off my hands in the wee morning hours while she was in the kitchen puttering around. I got to sleep until 8 AM: BLISS. The husband and I made a pilgrimage to Ikea, did a bit of gift shopping, then settled in for the day. Once the baby went to bed for the night, I watched "Rumor Has It", a strange romantic comedy starring Jennifer Aniston. This has to be the first romantic comedy I've seen that touts the virtues of settling for The Guy You're With, as opposed to chasing after The Dream Guy. It was funny, but the weird pseudo-incest thing was creepy after the fact.

Christmas cards are in process. This time around we join the ranks of people sending out family portraits complete with cute babies. Hell, we may even send them out BEFORE CHRISTMAS, a first for us.

The office group Christmas lunch is tomorrow. Not sure if it's a cost-cutting thing, but this year the boss is not taking us out for Indian food, but for pizza. *sigh* At least he's taking us out. In another group, they go out for a very swank meal, but they pay their own tab.
