The thing with Pendergast just makes you want to slap him, while singing 'Dirty old man' at the top of your lungs, off-key. ;)

“Go ahead, Ed. Say whatever it is you’re dying to say.”
“I didn’t want to go to another mechanic!” This seriously hurts. That and the 'Everybody Leaves Winry' thing going on. Girl deserves better than that. *nod*

Once more yummy art - and the background details! ^__^

Winry so deserves better than this! (Wonder if I wrote this story in subconscious reaction to the end of That Movie...hmmm.)

Pendergrast...hahaha. Speaking of That Movie, when I'd started throwing around mental ideas for this story, I had an idea for a story post-CoS with someone killing blondes to get Ed's attention (having realized he had a thing for blue-eyed, blond-haired women). I thought it could be an interesting murder mystery.

As I started working through this story, I realized I needed a villain and ta-dah! The storyline was right there where I wanted it to be.

I love the background detail in that piece. the drawing of the kid in the upper left corner; the schematics on the wall. Yay!

You know, this could also work in that post-CoS setting you mentioned. You could even have the explosive opium den in it. XD (I think, I haven't checked historically... but seeing as that movie deals in plotholes anyway, I reckon you're allowed leeway.) With Maria there and Izumi and perhaps Barry, Madame Mustang a few blocks away...

Yes, but you see, I'd have to figure out a way for the Elrics to return home if I was going to write a long story like that post CoS. And possibly actually watch That Movie, which makes me too sad to think of, really.

Al's not the only one wanting to hug Winry... *hugs her*
Can Winry just slap both brothers really really hard so they can go back to being friends? Wishful thinking, I know.
Pendergast needs to be slapped. Whatever his idea is, the summary you wrote makes me think it's not going to be pretty!

Wow, you're so violent today! *laughs* Everyone needs to be slapped....

Am I? ... I guess I am. Oops. ^^"
They should all stand around Winry at arm-lenght. She would spin on her heels with her arms extended and, voilà, she would slap everyone saving herself time and energy.

Ed: still a stupid, stupid boy.

Still loving this and getting through my Big Bang reading and reviewing slowly. Loved Winry deliberately greasing up to annoy her stalker. Also, badass General Hawkeye and how she reminds Ed of Izumi. And Al's thoughts on how the Elrics are surrounded by terrifying, violent women (I saw the thread below speculating on Al/younger!Olivia and I have to say it's been in my head to write Al's foolhardy encounter with sweet, shy little Katherine. I have no idea what she'll do to him but I do know he'll be walking funny the next day and Ed will mock)

And this:
Edward was considering shoving a cotton swab in his ear to shut the voice up HA ( ... )

Ed: still a stupid, stupid boy.

Oh, yes. :D Always. We'll see if he manages to remain unstupid for longer than five minutes.

BWAHAHAHA.

Winry knows shoddy work when she sees it. She's had excellent teachers, after all.

Yeah, the Elrics missing Pinako's funeral was kind of hard on them (they haven't forgiven me. Of course, Al still is yelling at me 'cause he didn't get his sexy tiems).

No sexytiems for Al? What??! *stops reading immediately*

XD Just kidding, I'm hooked on your lovely, unhappy fic. And I need to know if Ed can manage to be unstupid for more than five minutes.

BTW, does yoporock have an lj or a DA? I can't find a link, but I do want to give some love to her gorgeous illos.

Yeah, Al's disappointed, too. Believe me. I've been hearing about it.

*whistles regarding Ed*

Click on her name under her art - I put in hyperlinks when I originally posted and yes, I'm delighted to say, they still work! (etaNot trying to be sarcastic - was panicking for a few seconds.)

Prendergast is so creepy. Ewwie! Riza is scary, and so is Winry. Ed is so going to get his ass chewed out in the next 30 seconds. And Al is going to laugh, but he might hold it inside if only to keep from making Winry made at himself (he can rub it in Ed's face later). The tension, it builds!

Yay for creepy! *dances*

Riza and Winry are scary, scary women, indeed. Ed doesn't stand a chance.

Al might. Maybe. If he makes the right offerings and grovels enough.

Wow, this really hurt. I'm not sure who I felt the most for: Al, Winry, or Ed. Probably Winry, since she lost so much more these past few years. And teehee to her comments about Ed's mechanic. That she'd rather see Ed than Prendergast is either a good thing for a Ed, or a bad thing for Prendergast. I can't make up my mind yet.

Winry would never approve of Ed's mechanic. I mean, it's like he's cheating on her! Even if Winry isn't working on his automail any more.
