Ramble

Lately, I find myself rambling on about random stuff. My attention span is really short as well. BUT I also find myself interested in things I hadn't been interested in before. James listens to a lot of informational radio. He reads and absorbs information like a sponge. He's much smarter than he gives himself credit for. I remember him saying he realized how much he loved me when he learned that he didn't have to be ashamed of being so nerdy. He had realized that all his life he had be surrounded by dumb women. It is kinda sad when the smartest female you know is your sister. I think it's why we clicked so well to begin with; we both have a thirst for knowledge. We both love learning something new and mostly, he loves telling me about things I don't know. Last night over dinner, we listened to NPR and a podcast that talked about time. How it came about, why people used it and how it was eventually synchronized.

Anywho, I've been reading a lot of informational books, but I think I want to expand my reading. My friend Leah is doing one book a month; her goal being 12 books a year. I thought that was pretty neat and was thinking of stealing her idea.

My car is giving me hell. I had taken it in because it was leaking. I wasn't sure from where because by the time I noticed a puddle, it was spread evenly in the garage. I should've gotten a cardboard box, but I wasn't thinking too much about it. I took it in and i was told it was transmission fluid. In it went and they said they didn't have the parts to replace it, but that it wasn't too bad and flushed my transmission. I didn't have leaks very often. I figure, my car is getting old, and they told me I should be fine. So I didn't worry. This weekend, out of curiosity, I checked all my fluids; break fluid good, steering wheel fluid good, engine oil fine, transmission fluid fine and then bam, coolant: EMPTY. WTF?! How long had it been empty for? I don't drive far (home to work round trip is 12 miles), so it never got a chance to get hot I guess. Either way, I fill it half way, thanked my stars that it didn't shut off on me and left it at that. That was Sunday. Come Wednesday, I notice another puddle. Hmmmm. James and I lift the hood, check the coolant and EMPTY. Ok, WTF?! We fill it with what I have left in the garage and I am livid.

I'm taking the car in today and requesting to talk to the manager. Why back to the same place? It's the only place open after work and if needed, I have credit there.

That's another thing; cost. I am so worried about what this is going to end up costing. My car is a 2001; it's officially 10 years old. I don't want to put a ton of money into it. I'm to the point of asking James to ask The Dad about maybe borrowing some money to get a new used car. It would suck, I'd be embarrassed to ask and our tax money would be gone (whatever we'd end up getting). It would be my last resort.

Mollee Gray was here on Monday for a photo shoot. She's such a doll! As soon as we saw each other we smiled and she ran over to give me a hug! She's a sweetheart! She just finished filming a movie with Ashton Kutcher- she said she was definitely star struck! How awesome though, she is making her mark in film now :)

Off to figure out lunch.
