Finish Line

We've got 9 days til moving day.

I forgot to pay the rent on my birthday because I forgot to call and ask how i would be paying the rent since I am leaving mid month. The landlady came over and the way I calculated it ended up being $7 more but I figured it wouldn't be such a big deal. She requested the full months rent and said I'd get the refund back after. Of course I didn't see how that made any sense at all so I refused to pay the whole months rent since I told her "I'm only going to pay for the days I will be here" and that was that.

I have a feeling this isn't going to be an easy walk through. She kept peering into our apartment and I told her, "We'll do the walk through on the 14th like I scheduled and wrote in the letter of notice. You said that would be fine when we spoke on the phone the day after; I have boxes all over the place since we're packing" and she said "Oh, yes, of course, that's fine." I really need to get some pictures developed from when I first moved in and the existing details (spot on carpet) that were already there. I have a feeling that I will also not get my deposit back since Mozart decided to pop out and say hi in an apartment that doesn't allow pets. I'm almost sure she'll use that against me, but that was a choice I dealt with bringing an animal home.

Packing is going slow, but I'm sure we'll get it all done. I still need to rent out a U-Haul for Friday so we can get a big chunk moved out and Saturday can be little things but mostly shopping for new furniture. Hopefully. My sister is bringing her truck on Saturday to help us move. I need to get the pets moved over asap. I plan to bring Shadow home on Sunday.

Work has been going well, aside from being insanely busy, it is actually a lot of fun. I'm having issues with the other designer that was hired on by the previous Art Director - she is getting really lazy and her work is actually getting worse. I don't think I'll be keeping her for long.

There's talk about me getting the BIG (it's freakin' ginormous) office closer to the girls. I think the owner is afraid to move me in there in case he wants to eventually get someone BIG (would be the entire departments Boss) to move into that office. Either way, i don't care, I like my office now.

My review will be coming up at the end of the month and I am both nervous and excited. I am nervous because I am not sure if they are happy with how things are working with me being in charge so far, but excited just to hear criticism on what I need to do to improve. There's no fun in guessing; I like being told straight.

There's 22 days left for New York and less than a month left for resting on a farm riding horses.

I'm off to grab lunch before I devour everything in sight.
