Hi, I'm Mozart and I shouldn't be here....

Last night was probably equivalent to what it feels like to be a prepubescent boy getting caught with his penis in his hands. James and I were watching TV when someone began knocking at the door. I grab Mozart the cat and hide in the bedroom. James comes back to the bedroom and informs me that the landlady is at the door and wishes to speak to me. I give him the cat and I rush to the front door. It's freezing out, and she asks to come in. I let her in and stand in the kitchen, trying to hide the cat food bag behind me. Please be too busy talking about paperwork, please be too busy talking about paperwork and then, just when I think I am in the safe zone, Mozart slowly walks up to her and starts rubbing his face all over her pants. I try not to show that I really thought I was going to shit my pants. He stands and puts his paws on her leg and starts stretching. That little jerk! She looks down and says "Oh" and I pick him up. I tell her I'm babysitting for a friend who is moving and she just says "Don't let anyone see that you have him" so I try to get her to continue telling me about our contract and she didn't seem upset or bothered. I asked her that if my friend gave him to me, if I could keep him and she said "I didn't see a cat" - I offered to pay more rent and she said it was fine, just not to let anyone know that I have a pet.
I know the big part of it is that she has never had problems with me as a tenant and she can't afford to loose another one. I've been there for almost 4 years now, so I'm sure she doesn't want an empty apartment. If she had told me to get rid of him, I would've been forced to leave.

Speaking of leaving, I was asked to do more overtime yesterday and I had to turn it down for my appointment for my proficiency test. I did 14 hours of OT last week and I think I've given them my fair share of life. Unfortunately, when I showed up for the test, they got their dates wrong and I was suppose to come in TODAY. They're making this process pretty insane, so I hope they realize that.

I'm dying to get my taxes done.
I'm waiting for school crap to come in so I can go and get it over with. I'm tired of waiting. I hope I get a decent amount back - now that I am filing with James as my dependent, I figure my return is going to have to increase.

With the OT, I got us tickets to go see "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia/Family Guy LIVE" at Universal City. I had wanted to go last year but didn't have ANY money. I'm super-duper excited! It's going to be part of our Valentine's Day celebration. I also got James his gift already, but I think he knows what it might be since he saw the package when it came in the mail. Boo.

A friend of mine from Washington is coming to the Valley this weekend and we're going to have dinner with her and her fiance. It's a hell of a long drive for me, but it will be worth it! We've been food-blog-lovers for almost 2 years and I'm also invited to her Vegas wedding in May.

I need to stop being lazy and DO something.

family guy, ot, interview, v-day, mozart, it's always sunny in philly
