She said that they never become anything. His heart dropped. He felt like she was someone different. He wanted to ask her "Where in the world has she gone now?"
He felt like they were on a good page though. They had started a good friendship. He could come to her with anything, and she could come to him. He admitted, he took advantage of that, he would go to her about random things, bump into her at places just to say hi and have an hour long conversation about everything and nothing at all. Things that made sense to just the two of them.
He knew she felt like she couldn't let anyone into her heart, and to him, her heart was still beautiful. He just wanted to keep it safe with his, protect it with his own, not let anyone or anything touch it, He knew she was hurting about things in the past, and he wanted to show her a new beginning, but she would shut him down every time he would try. He didn't want his feelings to come between them though.
He walked over to the window, and watched her walk down the street, he couldn't help but smile at her as she kicked the leaves falling around her feet. He laughed at her when she faught with a single leaf that kept following her.
He knew he had a hard time letting go, letting of her, letting of the feelings that he had. They were in a world, where it couldn't happen. No matter he wanted it to. He still couldn't let go though, There was something in her eyes that kept pulling him back in. He promised to keep it to himself, that she didn't want hear any of it.
He should expect that much, her being an evil queen and all, but it didn't stop. It didn't stop the pain he felt, the pain she felt. He knew she would walk away, while he couldn't. But it was okay. He could get through it, push through it.
He had dreams involving her, they would always be so sweet and loving, and then he'd wake up, that was gone. The memory of her, of what could have been, haunted him every single night.
He would hold everything between them close to his heart, keep it all vague in front of her, was that a good thing of him to hide it though? Could he pull it off forever? Could he hide it from her forever? He didn't want her to just become a memory.
She protected him, when she didn't have to, she saved him, when she didn't have to, the universe had to be telling him something, he just didn't know what and wasn't sure if she was getting the same signals or not.
But tonight was the last night, the last draw, he was going to confront her, one way or another, He was going to get the answers to every burning question he had... and pray she wouldn't hate him.
