Virgin trains have announced the following cheap train tickets. May be of use to some of you.

You can now book discounted train tickets on the following popular routes:
Between London and Manchester for £9.00 each way
Between London and Birmingham for £7.00 each way

I think you have to go online to get these, I'm not sure.
