Eight to Five

It took a little longer than I would have liked but I am again employed. I have a 30 day relief job on the M/V Cape Hudson, a military-owned cargo ship in "Reserve Operating Status". That means it sits at the dock with a small crew keeping it in a state of readiness so it came be activated quickly if the powers-that-be decide we need to go invade another country. Or, you know, "defend the homeland" or something. What this means for me is I work regular hours 8-5 Monday thru Friday. Let me try to think back to the last time I had such a job....PROCESSING....2001. Day work? Weekends off? Sitting at the dock?Pretty weird if you ask me. Good thing it's only a month, don't want to get too used to the easy life.

The ship is at Pier 50 on San Francisco Bay, near the foot of the Oakland Bridge. No doubt I shall manage to entertain myself somehow. Don't suppose I know anyone in SF who might happen to be reading this?
