weekendy weekend

Jan 27, 2008 22:01

well, had both a relaxing and relatively productive weekend.

friday joe and i went out to macaroni grill to celebrate my birthday (which was thursday, but we had to go to club thurs to teach and all). mmm...tasty goodness. then we stopped and perused at barnes and noble for a while, and i picked up the memory keeper's daughter which i'll read soon.

yesterday i worked at b&n, but it was a pretty chill shift. then watched some tv and played some ffxi after getting home. i also worked on knitting my blanket, though i ran into the tangle from hell in my yarn. spent about an hour last night untangling, and another 1.5 or so today. giant ball of yarn + tangle = not much fun.

this morning i ran out to costco to buy my birthday gift from my family...yay shiny new ipod nano. i am happy about it. :) then i stopped at borders to grade what i had from this week, and actually have everything all caught up. when i got home i helped with a mission run in ffxi, then poked around in game and continued my knitting. blanket is just about done. yay! :) might even finish it tonight, if i decide that i don't need the sleep. we'll see. i'm kinda tired.

um...books so far this year:

1. Exile's Honor - Mercedes Lackey
2. Exile's Valor - Mercedes Lackey
3. Ragtime - E.L. Doctorov

i've actually enjoyed all my books so far this year very much. I'd somehow never read those lackey books, even though alberich (the main character in them) was one of my favorite characters from the other series he appears in. and the doctorov was recommended to me by a coworker at b&n. it was interesting, and a little different from what i normally read. now i've started the other boleyn girl by phillippa gregory. my sister has been on a kick with her, and several other people have recommended her...so i'm giving it a shot. i'm not very far in yet, but so far so good. whee...

ffxi, crafts, books, weekend
