I am fucking exhausted
Last night M was moved out of the cardiac ICU to make room for 2-3 heart operations, so for the time being he's in the general ICU, but he will probably get moved onto the general ward tonight or tomorrow.
He's off 24 hrs/day dialysis, and for the next couple of days it only needs to run for 5 hrs/day. His kidneys are kicking in a little bit, so hopefully they will be working sooner than the 6 weeks the doctors originally predicted.
We are STILL waiting for the results of the MRI - we can't seem to pin the doctor down for any length of time. They keep telling us that it looks good, but I want numbers and percentages. Hopefully when I go back this afternoon I'll be able to find something out.
M went for his first walk yesterday, and it lasted about 5-10 minutes before he got tired out. Today he sat up and watched TV for about 4 hours without getting tired, so he's getting a lot stronger.
The feeding tube is still in - I guess he's not eating enough (getting enough calories) because he stops as soon as he starts to feel a little bit full. I'd imagine that after going for 2 weeks with no food, his stomach is probably the size of a pea, so I can't really blame him! So he gets those Ensure or Boost shakes through the tube.
Everything is going really good with M. I, on the other hand, am starting to go a bit crazy. Having Mike's parents in my face 24 hours a day is starting to fray my nerves a little bit. They went to West Edmonton Mall this afternoon, so I jumped on the chance to tell them that I didn't want to go - finally, some quiet time!
