I'm not sure what a "web-based bleeper" is, but I would suggest a virtual square blinking and vibrating alarm beer cozy, like those used at an Olive Garden or a Chilis while awaiting a table. These could remain active in your systems tray until used ( ... )

Thank you for your input, gentle Noder. I have flagged the issue under the heading "Inappropriate use of web-based bleepers".

I suggest a deposit be paid for bleepers and if they are returned damaged, sticky or in fact warm then we know something's been going on. The deposit in this instance will not be refunded and the web-based bleeper will be burned in a great fire on the 3rd Tuesday of each month in the grounds of Michigan University.
