bored at work again
most sundays at my job are like this. i come in and there's a few quick things to do and then nothing for the rest of the day until about an hour before i leave some last minute job comes in and threatens to keep me here longer than 8 1/2 hours. hopefully i can just dash out of here on time because i despise this place.
anyway things have still been kind of crazy. i managed to see amanda for a couple hours last weekend while she was in town. unfortunately it was a short visit but that weekend kind of exploded in my face so it was really all i could do. (sorry amanda)
so i've been trying to get ready for thanksgiving since we're planning to have a huge bash. still have to do quite a bit of food shopping but it should be a great time..definitely a suitable replacement since i'm not going to be on the east coast with the family unit this year. it doesn't really bother me that i won't be there with them. i'm happy to finally be doing my own thing but of course my parents aren't so thrilled. my dad tried to bribe me with offering to pay for my airfare but there's no way in hell that i would hop on a plane to go somewhere for three days..plus i have too much to do here with school anyway. but i am excited for my two week trip back during christmas and new years...there shall be lots of debauchery to be had by all. i also can't wait to go to south street and hit up noise pollution and 611 records. (anyone else interested?) i've been bulking up my record collection but only at noise pollution can i find a lot of exactly what i want. i mean there's a huge cd/record shop here on haight street called amoeba and it's decent. but it's kind of sad because it's so huge yet the vinyl selection is kind of lacking. but i still managed to pick up a few records there the other day. i ended up getting elliott smith's "either/or", iron and wine's "our endless numbered days", the shins' " oh inverted world", an old school badly drawn boy single and u2's "joshua tree" (looks in britt's general direction) didn't have to spend that much either which is always nice.
in other news i think i've become candace's own personal carpenter. i'm going to be building two dolleys for her, one's going to be an oversized skateboard dolley and the other is going to be big enough for the camera, tripod and whoever will be operating the camera. i'm excited because i love building stuff. it's probably why being a theatre tech kid was always a lot of fun. shit i mean i got excited over building the ikea shelves in our apt. but yeah she's super excited..something tells me there's going to be a lot more crazy building adventures to come.
also had an interesting night last night. i ended up at my friend johnny's place with him and two of his buddies from high school. needless to say i was the only girl there but they pretty much acted like i was one of the guys which was funny because they don't know that i'm gay..well johnny knows..at least i think he does because he's known me long enough although i could have sworn he was trying to get his friend to hit on me and then he gave me this weird drunken hug...and he never hugs and that also ended with him practically running his hand across my the top of my chest...a little too close for comfort but i maneuvered out of it so no actual harm done. i honestly think he was just really hammered and doing the whole i love you man thing and he also handed me a can of beer for the road and insisted that it was important that i take it. lol...it's always amusing when people do that. but yeah good night minus the weirdness right at the end of it.
so i think that is all for now...i have a little less than an hour to kill and i still have nothing to do. well i could do the 7 foam mounts that are sitting on the table , but they're due tuesday and i really don't give a shit about them anyway. can you tell it's about time for me to find a different job?
