Well, I've been in my dorm for about 30 hours now. Wait, no, that's not right--what I meant was, it's been about 30 hours since I've moved into my room. So far, San Francisco has been great. And my dorm room is pretty nice. It's tiny, and I'm sleeping in the top bunk of a twin-sized bunk bed, and there's only one desk... but we have our own bathroom, and this dormitory, like all the dormitories at our school, used to be a hotel. So it looks all swanky from the outside. (Like 80% of the buildings here are beautiful, though.) My roomie's pretty cool. She moved into the room first, but left me plenty of space to put my stuff. We're going to Ikea's on Friday to get another desk for me and a more comfortable work chair for her. Last night, coming back from Walgreen's, I met a few people in the hallway and hung out with them for a while. They're pretty cool. So... yeah. So far I've been pretty busy just getting my bearings and walking around the city trying to get a feel for my surroundings. These hills are killing me right now, but walking with other people and talking and stuff really helps take your mind off of how long you've been walking.
Yeah, it sounds like I'm all happy and stuff right now, and I guess I am. But next week it's supposed to start raining, and I don't know how well I'm going to hold up if I'm going to have to be walking around in wet weather. (Yeah, there's the bus, and the school has a shuttle service, but... rain always brings me down.) Oh well. We'll see.
