And you wouldn't have said that 5 years ago when you weren't able to download all of your music; you actually had to go out and pay for it. I'm surprised people aren't like, "I should be able to download my food, I shouldn't have to pay for it!". And considering we're only making enough of a profit to have another run of CDs made (because no one else is complaining and they're gladly paying for them), $10 isn't expensive.

chill the fuck out man, i dont even download music hah. 1. i understand about the profit thing, but you should really care more about just getting your name out there and all over the place. 2. your target demographics which im assuming is teenagers are broke asses. 3. why would i spend 10 bucks on your cd when i can get the new mars volta cd for 7 bucks or the old one for 10... you just really havent gave me a real good reason to buy your cd for ten bucks. only for you to make money. i thought having an opinion was allowed. im not complaining or anything just playing devils advocate or such. but props on the artwork for the cd its pretty damn sweet.

I wasn't trying to imply that you steal music; I'm just irritated because so many people do and now because the ability is so readily available they think they have some right to. And all we want to do is get our name out; if we wanted simply a profit we'd sell them for $15. Yeah, we'd like to make a living some day, but exposure is more important. We play tons of shows where we don't get paid and we're perfectly content with playing. It's what we love. And I don't know why I need to give you a reason to buy our CD. If you like our music, buy our CD, that's your reason right there. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Nobody's forcing you to do anything. If you want Mars Volta, get Mars Volta. That should be an independent decision from buying any other CD. Here, I'll break down our reasoning for you. It costs us about $900 to just have this CD mastered and have 100 copies pressed (this isn't, however, factoring equipment costs, having the CD recorded and having somebody mix it, which also adds up). If we sold it for $7, that's $700, a ( ... )
