On love

I just don't get it. Maybe it's not a concept my almost 16 year old brain is supposed to grasp, or maybe (as I very firmly believe), I've just watched too many Disney movies and read too many fairy tales. It just seems so...simple to me. Because I truely love all of my friends, from the bottom of my soul. I love my dad. I love my goddess. I love ( Read more... )

caroline, i have been thinking the exact same thing lately... i dont know, i was watching JoA the other night when Joan thought she was supposed to have sex with adam and i was thinking, "what exactly is the point of a teenage relationship?" and i guess its just the first step to finding that one person who you are supposed to be with, but then i was like "well why do people have relationships in the first place? to reproduce i guess... and i guess its just a part of life that has always been" so the whole thing got me really confused and i was just like "i just have to accept the fact that this is the way it is ( ... )

See, that's the thing. I think society's trying to trick us into thinking that we just can't be happy until we've found that ONE and only person who we're meant to be with forever. And if we're perpetually on this search for happiness, we keep wanting something that may not exist when we're perfectly happy and in love with other people. So we're spending all our time looking, assuming that there's something wrong with everyone else...
And maybe crushes are pointless, but we can't help them:)

i dont think they're trying to trick us, it just seems that everything revolves around relationships, i mean, you know: everytime you see a commercial, or go to the movies, or watch tv, read a book, look at a magazine, go to the mall, there is always something that has to do with a relationship.... and i guess its because thats what everyone thinks they want... so i guesse maybe it is a societel (sp) thing but i think that poeple can be happy without a partner but i also do think that there is someone for everyone.
