That's right, children. Alcohol is bad. Or I am stupid. Either one. I tend to forget.
On that note, I'm home again, home again. I listened to Hail To The Thief all the way up the Northwest coast and back. I have made some decisions regarding the record.
-- Sail To The Moon may in fact replace Street Spirit (Fade Out) as the most beautiful and sad that it makes you want to cry for no reason song.
-- 2+2=5 passes my requisite "opening song" test. Aces it. It's brilliant. Has Thom's signature mournful crooning, and then slams into the guitars. I love it.
-- A Punch Up At A Wedding is the kind of song that you don't really notice or acknowledge the first few times, but is really a fantastic song.
-- Suck Young Blood is still creepy. Still makes me grin evilly. I love the change in rhythm from the slow dirge to the fast-moving guitars.
-- The Gloaming is very understated. I really, really like this song. The beat is just overwhelming, in a good way.
-- A Wolf At The Door means Radiohead has once again perfected the "ending song".
I have no attention span and will now move on to another topic, though I love all the other tracks on the record just as much. Watched Shallow Grave with S. That movie is twisted as fuck.
Why did no one inform me that Mr. Bloom is in Troy along with Brad Pitt? I saw the "Greek Barbie" picture of Brad, but I just found out that Orli is co-starring. Will he play Paris, perhaps?
Okay. Too tired. Was going to log on to AIM, but I think I'm going to crash now. Poppies...poppies...sleep.
There's something I'm forgetting.
