I picked out a dark purple shirt to wear to work today, and then started digging in my sock drawer for some coordinating socks. I dug around for a bit, and came across a Regia pair in shades of purple (it's one of those jacquard ones with the rings of color between the rings of black/white flecks). Anyhoo, I realized I hadn't worn these in a long time, so I pull them on (they're a wee bit tight after many washings) and go about my day.
At work, I kick my shoes off (as I often do) and walk around the office in sockfeet (what's the socked version of barefoot?). As I'm walking to the kitchen to make tea, I look down to admire my socks (yes, I am a bit self-centered about my knitting sometimes). I suddenly realize that I bought this yarn and started knitting these socks while staying with my grandparents over the Christmas holiday while in college. I start doing the math and realize that these socks are probably 6 1/2 years old. That's pretty crazy.
And people say you can just buy socks at Walmart. Ha! Not like this!! :D
Happy Friday.
