#1 -- Crucial in a small social circle. Difficult but crucial. Blow off the steam to people TOTALLY outside of the circle sometimes -- preferably to people who will never meet these other people, and not in a public forum like LJ. But steam escaping far away from the circle won't stir up more drama.
#4 -- excellent move to help alleviate the intensity of aforementioned small circle.
#2 -- good for perspective in keeping day-to-day frustrations in perspective. Very wise strategy.
#3 -- Also wise. Hard, but wise. Still working on that one myself -- let me know how it works for you.
There's always my strategy -- retreat to fiction for awhile when reality bites. Putting a person's reaaaaallly annoying traits into a character can be satisfying sometimes. Playing about in a sandbox where you get to control the action is useful therapy sometimes. A couple of hours wallowing in a favorite book or movie disconnects me from the situation long enough to relax a little, even if it's still there when I have to come back to Earth. (Boring place, reality.)
