Weekend Round-Up

Oct 24, 2006 03:49

The other day I made a statement that I just don't have enough going on in my life to "blog" about. Tom and Scott corrected me saying that there was, I just need to look closer. I think I will put more thought into that, and give it a try.

Friday - The Gaming Gods Must Be Crazy
Friday night I went out and played some Magic. The gaming gods must not have been pleased with me, since I lost just about every game I played. Most of these losses were simply based on bad luck and bad draws. It must have been bad karma from something bad I did. Then a few of us (Scott, Tojo, Jen, Tom, and Kari) went out to eat at Don Pablo's, for me it was the normal Don Pablo's trip, bad service and sub-par food. I know people out there are large fans of Don Pablo's I however am not. On the plus side I finally got to meet Tom's new girlfriend Kari, so now I feel a little more complete. When I got home, the gaming gods continued their barrage of negativity on me, when I logged into Warcraft. I did three rounds of PVP, and there were probably the three worst rounds I have ever done in my PVP career, I seriously do not know what was going on with me Friday.

Saturday - Andy's Halloweekend
After working on Saturday Andy was having a Halloween party. Andy had mentioned it to me, that it was a costume party, but I decided not to dress up. Not that I want to dress up, Halloween is awesome and I would love to dress up in a costume, however I have seen enough fat guys in costumes in my life, to know the visual impression that burns into ones brain. Sometimes fat guys and costumes just don't mix, simple as that, however after the party I started to use my brain and came up with some good ideas, they will have to wait until next year before making their debut. So I showed up sans costume and felt like a party pooper the entire night, just about everyone else had a costume. I Had a good time at the party anyways, ate some snacks, got a pretty good beer buzz, and watched World Series game one. After the party a few of us went to Texan for the weekend breakfast buffet, and experienced some the worst service, and experience I have ever had in a restaurant. Texan is usually the best place to go for late night eats, but maybe we will have to think twice before going their again, especially on a weekend.

Sunday - Big Knocks
Sunday night went over to Dan and Doug's to watch World Series game 2. Much fun was had there..with snacks and yelling things at the screen. I used to think baseball was such a boring sport, but after catching tigers fever and watching quite a few games, I think I am starting to see its appeal.

Monday - Board Game
Went out to Denny's with Scott, Mop, Tojo, Tom and Jen. Then back at the store we finally cracked open the World Of Warcraft Board Game that had been sitting there emitting a bright golden glow. We played a game and it was awesome, I know when something becomes popular and gets its name slapped on just about every product imaginable it tends to be dumb. But so far Blizzard has done a fairly good job making sure everything with the WOW name is a good product. The board game was cool and even Tom didn't give it a full "dumb", instead he only gave it a "kind of dumb." The card game is halfway decent too, it plays very similar to Magic, but with enough differences to make it appealing.

This Week
Now I am looking to the rest of the week with a blah attitude, school tomorrow and Thursday. Wednesday I have to go down to the court house and start my big project for government class.
Stay Tuned.
