Apparently all I do on here is DITLs anymore. That seems to be all I have time for and even then, they're few and far between.
Things have been alright here. Christmas was...interesting. Adam and I had a great morning at home with Jase and Lager, opening presents and having a relaxing breakfast together. Then we went to his parent's house for about an hour and a half and it was a disaster like I thought it would be. First, his Dad told the story he always tells about how he used to have people hold Adam's Mom in a chair when his brother cried as a baby so she couldn't go check on him. Apparently he did it 3 times before she 'learned' to ignore her crying children. This story always upsets me and I'm starting to wonder why he needs to tell it every time he sees me. Then, although Adam has promised me that he won't leave me with his mother because she always sends him out of the room then says rude things to me, she sent him out of the room and he jumped up and left without hesitation. She kept asking me all these questions which she always does then says rude things to my responses, but this time I just gave really vague answers so she really had nothing to comment on. Finally it was time for the awkward visit to come to a close with present opening. Literally all 3 items she got me screamed 'I know absolutely nothing about you' and I'm 99% sure that 2 of them were re-gifts. Then it came time to open Jase's presents from the in-laws...or should I say Jask's presents. That's right! That's what his present was labelled JASK. What the ever loving fuck? Adam said, 'who's Jask?' and his mom was like, 'Oh is that what I put?' then proceeded to think it was the funniest thing she's ever done. She wasn't embarrassed, she didn't say Omg how can I not know how to spell my grandson's name, nothing. Just pure joyful laughter. Not to mention it was a gift card to Walmart that we were instructed to spend on the item she had promised us for Jase's baby shower. Then she gave him an outfit for an 18 month old child. I can understand people giving us items for more than a year from now if they're not going to see us, but why would Adam's mother give us something that Jase can't wear until spring of 2015?? To be clear, I'm not bitching about the actual items we received, she can spend her money on what ever she wants, I'm bitching about the complete lack of thought behind them. After we left, we came back home to regroup and so I could take some pics of Jase in his Christmas outfit. Then off to my parent's place for dinner and to see the rest of the fam.
New years was extremely uneventful seeing me in bed by 10:30 and Adam not far behind me. But when your baby is up every few hours to eat, you take sleep when you can get it!
Here are some pics from Jase's various Christmas themed photo shoots I did over the week before Christmas and then Christmas day.
