Consciousness is
circular
and paradoxical
a Dirac Sea
out of which we steal
breath
and Thought
for a few fragile years
in this strangled universe
of ours

some crawl
and some are caught
in the fires of tomorrow
while today chokes
on mathematical abstractions
of ignorance and agony
(the lifeless representations
make our lungs collapse,
they take our
breath
away)

You have
never been

and I
am not

but
maybe

life is an act of defiance
to the integumental illusion
that we seem to be able to pierce
(with bliss and misery)
only accidentally
and with enigmatic rarity

we are all singularities
lost in our own gravity
tethered to reality
by emotion
and happenstance
mired in
what we have come to call
time
them and we and I and you
and One
