Okay, so remember the boy who poked me on facebook a bit ago, and I read his lj, and he's a nymphomaniac (and possibly bisexual)? Well, he's been sitting closer to me in class ever since the symposium (where we "met"), and so I looked at his livejournal again to see if he'd mentioned it (to see if it was intentional or if it was just a coincidence). Big mistake. Turns out he talks about me. On his livejournal. Yes, I realize I'm talking about him on my livejournal right now, but it's different. I'm not being creepy, I'm being freaked out. He writes about me. That's weird. Especially that he uses my name. Uses my name after leaving a link to his lj on his facebook. Uses my name after leaving a link to his lj on his facebook after poking me on facebook so I would know his username. There were two posts he's written recently that I think had content that applied to me. In the first post, he doesn't use my name, but he says, "we just smiled at each other in little splitseconds, in IR," and then says he doesn't know what to do about it. I mean, I guess that happened, but only by accident. He turned around and looked at me! Of course I smiled, probably rather awkwardly and self-consciously, but apparently it was encouraging for him. Figures. I was just being nice! That's how this whole thing got started -- I was being nice and helped him out with his IR assignment. The second post is the one he actually names me in. Here's what he posted: "update: Had some success with Kathryn, I invited her to lunch, she was all, i dunno, BUT she was also all, is this yr last class? and to that, kathryn, I say, I wish I had said so. Because, I'd like to make friends with you. My mind is leaping over that step in little microsecond bursts, but that's what I come back to." Okay. First of all, he did NOT have success. Do you want to know what happened? Our class got out early so I couldn't wait for DJ outside our classroom like I normally do, and Kurt wasn't there that day, so I started walking down the hall toward the stairs, and he walked next to me. And then when we got to the ground floor, I stopped outside the door (for reference, it was the ledge on the southeast side of Pray-Harrold where people always sit to smoke, but since it was early they weren't there yet), and he stopped, too. I told him I had to make a call and got out my phone, but he didn't leave. He kept talking, and that must be when he'd invited me to lunch. I very honestly have no recollection of being asked to lunch. I was probably so busy trying desperately to think of ways to get rid of him that I didn't really listen to what he was saying. And, the part where I asked him if it was his last class? Anyone in his right mind knows that's just small talk: "Hey, how's it going? Did you just get out of class? Are you done for the day?" I bet you I had that exact conversation with 10 different people last week. Anyway, finally he asked if I wanted him to leave and told me not to be afraid to be assertive. I told him I kind of did need him to go but didn't want to be rude, and he said something about a difference between assertiveness and rudeness, but I can't really remember what his exact words were. So he left, and I actually did make a call, but I walked over and sat on the island-thingy in the middle of the triangle between P-H, Quirk and Goddard. He'd walked off when I got on my phone, but five minutes later I saw him walk by the spot where I was sitting. So I said "Hi," but now I wish I hadn't. (I actually used his name when I said Hi, and Kurt later told me that was baaaaad because it means I'm saying Hi to him and that he's not just another kid I'm waving at. Great.) I thought it was a little weird that he walked by, but I kept talking. A few minutes later, I looked around for DJ, and I saw him sitting on that ledge where we originally chatted. Weird again. I turned back around and hoped he hadn't spotted me (and I don't think he had), and then a few more minutes later, I looked the other direction for DJ, and the kid was sitting on the island thing, like 20 feet from me!! I know he could have had a perfectly legitimate reason for being there, but I was a little freaked out. If he was on his way to class or lunch or whatever, shouldn't he have been leaving? OH, and, by the way, in case I haven't mentioned it enough already, the kid's a total nymphomaniac. So that little comment: "Because, I'd like to make friends with you. My mind is leaping over that step in little microsecond bursts, but that's what I come back to," makes me very uncomfortable. At least something's nagging him to try to be my friend and not just to view me as another conquest. (A conquest he'll never even get close to conquering, needless to say.) I'm a little freaked out. Sarah's right -- why do all the weird ones have to like me?? Why can't a nice boy just like me?

Kurt, add me to your friends list so you can read this and help me! :(
