Anytime you think you have to figure something out after having thought about it over and over again at great length, there is the possiblity that you are rumminating. Rummination is the act of trying to reason away an uncomfortable emotion.

It never works, because it's not really addressing the source issue. Plus, it creates a great cognitive trap to fall into.

The upshot is that it's just a behavior that you can change with some mindfulness.

Anyway, give me a call tomorrow. It'll probably be another 5 months before I look at live journal again. ...and Brewer demands that I immediately report to the bedroom for sleep.
