✿ Happy Valentine's, S.A.D., S.P.A.T., Whatever Day. I enjoyed it with a nice cold bottle of Blue Moon. ;Db
Weekend recap of sorts:
✿ Friday was dinner with Da Posse at Home. We don't nearly do this enough, but then again when we do, it makes it all that much more awesome. We got free drinks from the bartender cuz he was apparently new and needed the practice. Hey, it was free...and thankfully, were decently made. Afterwards, we went to visit Steph at Ye Rustic Inn a block away. Had more drinks, which led toan impromptu love life counseling session for one of us, which then led to guy bashing and then I think we all just ended up feeling bitter, lol.
✿ Saturday was LACMA day with
sakurae and
random_karen for their European fashion exhibit. We had a yummy late lunch at Johnny Rocket's at Farmer's Market before we headed over, where we met up with Ali. The exhibit itself was quite fascinating. It's really amazing how much work went into making these fabrics and garments for the well off. I had no idea they embroidered designs onto the bolt of fabric first and thus leaving essentially the pattern pieces for the garment. For some reason, I thought they embroidered the pieces when they were already cut out or when they were sewn together already, but before the lining. That and a few other pieces just blew my mind! I was trying to fathom HOW they made it. I feel like I have no right to complain when I make stuff because these people were like PRO.
Oh, and we cracked a joke at how a lot of the materials looked like what we'd use for upholstery now and amused a nearby guard. XD
I also LOVED the paper wigs on the mannequins! I wanted to play with them~
Karen! :D

Then something horrible happened: When we were almost done gawking at the exhibit, I dropped my camera. The lens barrel got bent and the metal plate fell off. B'awwwww. ;___________;
✿ Sunday was early celebration for my mom's birthday that's this Wednesday. We went to this restaurant that my parents like, but I don't. Proof: Their mapo tofu was a disappointment.
✿ Had a couple weird dreams the past month.
First one:
I met up with
kikinasai in what I think was Malaysia for some sort of like cosplay event which looked more like a cosplayer panel at a con. It went on without a hitch and when it concluded, she said, "C'mon," motioning me to follow her and so we did. We were following a girl and a guy that I thought was Jin and Miguel (y'know those cosplayers from the Phillippines). There were paparazzi everywhere, too. We come out of the building - which when I looked back looked more like a hotel - and a white limousine pulled up along the curb. "Jin" and "Miguel" went in and we followed. I was all confused wondering how we were able to get away with this, we don't know them, etc etc. Turns out, they're friends of Courtney's. And they're not who I thought they were.
The limo ride only went down a few blocks to a big plaza of some sort. They were chatting while I kind of was just observing my surroundings. We get to our destination and when I climbed out of the vehicle, which by this time, looked more like the sliding door of a van, I was introduced to them. They were Maggie and Joly(?...I like how they swapped the letter of the names of who I thought they were, lol). We started walking around and talking. I can't remember if we sat down for lunch or what. But we were walking some more and it was through the streets of the city. I kept on thinking they're who they're not, but they don't look like them the more I glance. Maggie says that some friend of theirs, who in my dream mind associates as a friend of Jin's, got banned from this one block of a street for spilling a cup of soda...I was surprised. I look around my surroundings and it looks like we're in some park or quad area. White concrete sidewalks for people to walk on and droopy old trees planted equidistance from each other. I ask Courtney if she's going to cosplay anything and she says something that I didn't catch, but I knew what she was saying. My dream's mind provided me with a memory of me seeing her show me some sailor school girl outfit that has a red base and sailor collar like Maka's Spartoi one. Our conversation cuts off cuz I wake up.
The other one: I can't remember this so well and the note I typed up on my phone when I was half-conscious after waking up is somewhat incomprehensible...but it had to do with me working at a new job but it had old and new coworkers. We were all in a meeting but the tables were school desks. I was arguing with the boss that what s/he wanted was impossible to do and I had to redraft everything. I remember being VERY frustrated at the situation and left to go to the restroom. I get there, but it's crowded. So I wait outside and go in a few minutes later. I'm doing my business and when I grab some toilet paper, I realize that someone had put cream cheese and fruit in the layers of the roll. Like they rolled it out, smeared it on, then rolled it back. I got really pissed off and started yelling profanities, then I woke up, haha. GROSS. Blegh.
