Officemate voted for Taylor 300 times on Tuesday. For Taylor. She voted. 300 times. No matter how many times I say them, the words just do not compute...There's no way I can compete against that kind of devotion.
Michael Weatherly as Tony DiNozzo: "There's a greater chance of me hooking up with Jessica Alba." HEE! I love NCIS.
Debora Cahn is I think one of the only TWW writers whose voice rivals Sorkin's. Something about the cadence of her dialogue, how she brings the poignant funny... Sunday's ep was awesome.
I hate me a retcon.
Cordelia passing the visions to Angel gets a pass because they were unexpectedly canceled, but I expect better from good shows. (Sure, Spike, you were always into torturing and raping young girls, 'cause that's just how you rolled, except NOT because it flies in the face of years of characterization and continuity. Shut up, S7.)
I hate times a zillion the fact that Beaver raped Veronica. HATE IT. It completely destroys "A Trip To The Dentist," my absolute favorite episode of last season. As it was, it was all twisty and weird and ambiguous and unreliable narrator-y and "because you're my sister. And I knew it!" and the thing I like(d) the best is that there wasn't A Bad Guy. If Veronica hadn't been so proud, if Sean hadn't given Dick the GHB, if Meg had gone over to Veronica, if Madison hadn't been on Atkins, if Mac and Madison hadn't been switched at birth, if Logan hadn't thought Duncan needed a little fun, etc., etc., etc. If everyone hadn't had been all human and frail and made little circumstantial mistakes that added up, then the events of that night wouldn't have happened.
Now, though, all that is blown away. Because it wasn't all fascinating and complex. There was A Bad Guy. Completely unnecessarily, imo.
I totally buy everything else. I have no problem believing Beaver was abused or that he's a nascent real estate genius or that he sent the bus over the cliff or would kill Keith or that he scared the shit out of me when he grabbed that gun with a sociopathic glint in his eye. Shirtless. Which I didn't find attractive at all. (Damn, Kyle. Damn.) I believed all that; I didn't need further proof this guys was a baddie. Proof that rendered one of the cleverest bits of television in recent memory meaningless. So the rape retcon was just dumb and redundant and tacked on and we hates it, precious, we hates it forever.
Which is too bad, because I liked everything else. Liked the conclusion of Jackie's storyline, loved the return of Lianne and Lilly, liked Aaron gettin' his, the CW shoutout, liked the parallel structure with S1 of Logan on the bridge and Cassidy on the edge - this time, though, Logan didn't reach out his hand - liked Mac a hella lot, liked it all.
In conclusion, Veronica/Logan WHEEEEEEEE!!!!!
ETA: Oh my god. The Office, y'all. The Office. You have to- Just...omigod.
