I just want to see Arashi in concert once, thats all I ask and then I can be happy.

Holy neglected journal batman! It's april already. It's about to tornado here, the winds are up to ridiculous speeds and we just saw the neighbors' backyard umbrella fly by down the street. My mom is starting to get that "OMG! Everyone get in the basement nows!" look on her face. I don't think it will be that bad, if anything it's just going to flash thunderstorm and thats it.

I'm going to post the first chapter of my fic here to my journal, freshly beta'd by the awesome jrose_85. One because I know no one reads my journal except me I'll no one will read it and two I'm too shy to post it anywhere else. Maybe in oh_fictions if I get really brave, though I don't know if it will be okay because Ohno doesn't really enter until about chapter four.

Here is good for now. It's still untitled and unfinished anyway.

EDIT: Okayy I finally decided on a title so I'm just updating this post

Title: Deus Ex Machina - The Instruments of Fate
Chapter: 1/?
Pairings: Ohmiya, OhnoxOC, NinoxOC, AibaxOC + other background pairings
Rating: PG-13, but rating will go up
Disclaimer: I do not own Arashi

Chapter One - Start The Revolution
Maybe tonight we’ll get back together
Sound the alarms and break all the levers
These streets are ours, our anthem rings
You’d know the truth if these walls could sing
Amateur youth sling down the signs
Gather the masses, friends of mine
I’ve got your back if you got my hand
This isn’t over, it just began

If that boy kept staring at her she was going to have a nervous breakdown. It was a fact Aubrey Belacqua kept trying to deny as she swung her bottle of Kirin Green Label up to her lips and drained half its contents in one gulp. Drinking probably wasn’t making this any easier on her already addled nerves nor was it doing anything to calm her racing thoughts, but the familiar motion was somehow comforting, as was the buzzing of the alcohol going straight to her head. She looked up from where she had been pretending to be very interested in peeling the label from the bottle to see that he was still in the same position; leaning lazily against a small table near the bar, hunched over his untouched tequila shot, eyes trained relentlessly on her.

Aubrey wasn’t sure what it was about him that she found so unsettling. He was far from physically imposing, only maybe an inch or two taller than her own meager height. He was also very slender, a fact which was accentuated by his incredibly tight jeans that hugged his thighs and hips like a second skin and a tailored black motorcycle jacket that showed off his lean white t-shirt covered torso. It was something in his eyes, sharp and hawk-like in the dimness of the bar and in the quirk at the corners of his lips as he smirked in her direction, combating with the overall boyish youthfulness of the rest of his face. The contradictions in those features were sending sharp jabs of warning straight to her instincts; this guy is dangerous, get away while you can. She knew that she was probably overreacting. She’d been nervous all week, feeling like something was going to happen. He probably wasn’t actually staring at her at all and she was just projecting her already crazy thoughts to the environment around her.

It had been situations like this that had been driving her roommate Tokushima Sachi crazy all week, until finally she snapped and demanded Aubrey get out of the house before they both lost their sanity. And now Sachi was out on the floor dancing with one or maybe several guys while Aubrey watched her purse and hoped that shady motorcycle jacket didn’t have a knife concealed in his boot. She sighed, drained what was left of her beer and tried not to feel resentful of Sachi as she heard her friends tinkling laugh all the way across the bar. At least someone was having a good time. Aubrey knew she should try not to be such a mental case, and she did kind of owe the night of fun to the other girl. Sachi got to go out so rarely now it seemed since her first single had hit number one on the Oricon Charts last week. Sachi’s life had gone from struggling to make it to a whirlwind of fame, concerts, variety shows and promotion.

“I should be lucky I get to spend any time with her at all,” Aubrey reminded herself under her breath. For the past month Sachi had been coming home and crashing at ungodly hours due to recordings, press and rehearsing. She was exhausted, hard working, and Aubrey was only making it worse by bursting into her room every time she had a nightmare or heard the apartment creak. So why then was she still sitting at the table alone and depressed? She shook her bottle even though she knew it was now empty and slid it across the table, slumping to rest her head on her arms. Maybe she was studying too hard? Though it was a miracle that she’d even passed the entrance exams for Tokyo University, why did she think it would be a good idea to double major in Japanese History and Language? She was working almost as hard as Sachi some nights, studying till she had to tape her eyes open just to keep looking at the page. The feeling that some horrible earth shattering event was going to occur must have been a byproduct of trying to cram too much Kanji into her brain. At least that was what she thought until she looked up to see the table the boy had formerly occupied was now empty. She felt a stab of panic at first, glancing around frantically until letting out her breath when she realized he must have finally left.

“Are you looking for someone?” Someone asked in a low voice. The sound made her blood run cold as she felt a solid body pressing into her back, another bottle of Kirin entering her field of vision. Of course it was him. She couldn’t even muster the will to be surprised as he propelled himself onto the barstool next to her. Up close he looked even younger, making her wonder if he was of legal age to be in there. Aubrey could also very clearly see the strange amber color of his irises, like molten honey wickedly tilted like a sly cat’s. He hooked one of his long legs around the base of her bar stool and used it to drag his own closer.

“I-is there something you want?” Aubrey found her voice finally after several beats of just staring into his face numb with horror, fumbling with her Japanese embarrassingly. He looked at her appraisingly, as if trying to figure out whether to play with her a little or get straight to the point. That paranoid part of her mind was whispering to her that this wasn’t about some jerk in a bar trying to get in her pants, it was something worse. He reached deliberately across her body to twist the cap off her beer, chuckling under his breath when her arm broke out in goose bumps where he had made contact with her skin.

“You might want to drink that before I get into this,” he said sliding it into her hand. It seemed he’d decided to go the second route. Aubrey pushed the offending bottle away and narrowed her eyes at him, but before she could think of a smart ass reply they were interrupted. Aubrey hadn’t noticed how quiet it had suddenly gotten until the silence was broken when she suddenly found herself with a lapful of drunk Sachi. Now the pounding music of the Ginza club roared in her ears, punctuated by her friends laughter as she cried Aubrey’s name and hugged her tightly.

“Aubrey-chan~!” Aubrey wrapped her arms around the smaller girl trying to pull her back a little so that she could breathe, getting a mouthful of Sachi’s long dark hair in the process. “Come dance with us Aubrey!”

She looked up over the girls head noticing a tall guy standing across the table from her grinning widely and pushing his wavy brown hair out of his eyes as he tried to catch his breath. Poor guy, Aubrey sympathized. When Sachi got dancing there was no stopping her and any guy that got in her way was completely at her mercy. The girl could move her body that was for sure, it was part of the reason she’d gotten so famous so quickly. This guy didn’t seem to mind though, all smiles and excitement, his eyes crinkling in the corners when he grinned in a cute way. He was very tall and nicely toned, and seemed to have no end to his boundless energy as he vibrated on the spot while waiting for them. Aubrey however did not return the smile. Though he did seem very nice there was once again something about him that was off. And more than that, he was dressed very similar to the unsettling man next to her. Tight black jeans and a dark leather jacket, though his clothing looked more comfortable rather than skin tight.

“I think we should go soon Sachi,” Aubrey started to say but the girl in her lap was not even paying attention to her anymore, her attention had snapped to the man to her left.

“Who’re you?” She asked suspiciously, almost lying across Aubrey’s lap now in her best attempt to give this guy a good stare down. To Aubrey’s surprise he fixed her with an amazingly innocent smile, something she hadn’t thought he was capable of from the hungry look that had been in his eyes just moments before.

“Ninomiya Kazunari,” He said sweetly, brushing away the strands of his longish black hair that had fallen into his eyes, “but everyone calls me Nino.”

“Whad do you want?” Sachi narrowed her eyes further.

“I just wanted to dance with Aubrey-chan,” It was Aubrey’s turn to narrow her eyes in disbelief over Sachi’s head. What was this asshole playing at?

“Nino~!” Sachi squealed, a delighted grin breaking out over her face as she flung herself from Aubrey’s lap to throw her arms around Nino’s neck. “Why didn’t you say so before?”
Nino grinned at her dangerously over Sachi’s shoulder and Aubrey returned it with a scowl.

“I’m not a very good dancer-” Aubrey tried but was helpless to resist her friend’s insistent tugging as she was dragged from her stool towards the swirling lights and thumping beat. She twisted to watch the two boys follow them and the glance they shared when they thought no one was looking was enough to crystallize her gut feelings. She wasn’t just being paranoid anymore, they were up to something. They knew each other and something very bad was going to happen soon, she could feel it.

The music seemed to swallow them whole and for a moment the sheer volume overwhelmed her as she lost her bearings in the crowd. She lost Sachi’s hand somehow as people pushed and pulled and grinded around her in a disorienting flurry until strong arms encircled her waist, pulling her back to herself and against hips that were sharp as razors. She didn’t need to turn around to know it was Nino, she could feel his smirk against her ear as he moved them together effortlessly to the music. A short distance away she could see Sachi and the tall guy very immersed in their dancing and each other. If she hadn’t been so freaked out she would have been happy that her friend had finally found someone who could keep up with her, but for the time being she was just comforted to know that Sachi was safe and in her sight.

“I think you dance nicely,” a teasing voice purred in her ear. Aubrey had to fight the impulse to punch him. She was acutely aware of his hands low on her hips and his body flush against her back.
“We need to get out of here as quickly as possible,” the teasing had left his voice and she could tell he was serious, only reconfirming her dread that the clock was ticking down to disaster. He spun her and she ended up pressed against his chest, his hands bringing their hips together again.

“Why?” Her voice was thick as she spoke into his neck, his arms unwilling to let her break away from him. It was a ridiculous way to have a serious conversation, but it assured their privacy since there was no way anyone would be able to hear them.

“There isn’t enough time to explain. I just need both of you to willingly come with us and not make a scene.”

“Why should I do that?” She scoffed and felt his neck tense in frustration.

“I’m not playing around,” He growled.

“Neither am I. I don’t just go places with strangers because they demand it.” He stopped moving and roughly pushed her back a little, still keeping a firm grip on her waist. His eyes were fierce, but they were also pleading with her silently.

“I don’t know how much longer I can keep them out of here.” All of a sudden his urgency was contagious. She felt it too, a nagging prickling up her spine. The clock had run out, the time was now and they had to get out of there quickly. She nodded to him and they moved together it seemed in a surge towards Sachi. Upon closer inspection Aubry could see the taller man had Sachi by the wrist, lightly trying to tug her from the dance floor to no avail.

“Just one more song,” Sachi said as they reached them, “One more...”

“Sachi we have to go!” Aubrey yelled over the music. The taller, but more willowy girl turned, her face full of concern at the urgency in her friends voice.

‘What is going on?” She demanded and then suspicious again, “Who are these guys?” Bless her heart, Sachi wasn’t stupid.

“I don’t know,” Aubrey replied, “But we have to leave-” As she said the last word the floor bucked and rolled under their feet, causing the dancers around them to pause in confusion. Nino cursed under his breath.

“We don’t have time for this, Aiba just grab her!” With a rushed apology, the taller man leaned in and swung Sachi over his shoulder, turning with effort to where he thought the emergency exit was. Sachi screamed, but the floor was in motion again shuddering angrily without stopping this time. Chaos irrupted in the club as people panicked and started stampeding in every direction. Nino shoved Aubrey roughly ahead of him in the direction Aiba was dashing with a screaming spitfire of a girl who was kicking at his knees with her dangling legs. A horrible squealing grinding noise split the chaos making her flesh crawl as they ran, Nino’s hand pushing at her back demanding her to move forward. The ceiling was going to cave in on them and it seemed like the exit was an impossible distance away, or maybe that they were moving in slow motion. It had all ceased to be real to Aubrey from the moment they’d left the safety of the table. She chanced a glance behind her to see men in black suits, their faces shrouded, pursuing them in unhurried unison, seeming to glide effortlessly across the floor as a unit .

“Don’t look back,” Nino shouted, ahead of her now, gripping her arm tightly and pulling her with him. Aiba hit the door first with Sachi, kicking it open and sprinting out into the lights of the Tokyo night. Nino pulled her through the door with him and they kept on running flat out in Aiba’s wake to a black car with tinted windows parked illegally on the curb.

“Get in!” Aubrey slid into the back seat after Aiba deposited Sachi there, only to be pushed painfully as Nino squished in after her. Aiba dashed for the driver’s seat and they were off, speeding down the road. Aubrey twisted in her seat just in time to see the Ginza club collapse with a deafening crunch, burying the people still inside.
