Updates
- I'm in my new apartment! It is wonderful! The neighborhood is lovely and sweet and tree-lined and we are tasting our way through every restaurant and they have every one of them been delicious. The only problem right now is that I have no furniture and so my room is still entirely in boxes. :( Oh, well, I suppose also there's the little problem where I don't have a job. Yeah.
- A five week break has done nothing to improve FFXIII. The script is as piss-poor as ever. I'm currently climbing a tower that in any other FF game would pass for some semblance of a puzzle, where different statues want you to kill different monsters and you have to talk to other statues to open the doors to those monsters, so you have to figure out where you're supposed to go first in order to get to your ultimate destination. Except that in XIII you don't need to figure anything out. You don't need to think about it at all. The map tells you exactly where to go for each step of the process.
In which case, Square, what the fuck is the point? The point of this kind of puzzle is that the entertainment factor is in figuring it out. The actual act of running up to a statue and pressing X is not actually all that gripping. But since you have removed the need for me to use my brain in even the most basic capacity and are just treating this like all the other corridors we mindlessly run down in this game, Square, you are just wasting my time. Fuck you.
- urbanberber IS HERE. SHE IS ALL UP IN THIS CITY'S GRILL, Y'ALL. THERE WILL BE EPIC SHENANIGANS. IT IS AWESUUUUUUUM.
- SPEAKING OF EPIC SHENANIGANS: NYCC AND NYAF. ALL WEEKEND. IN COSPLAY. FUCK YESSSSSSSSSS. (But terribly sad that the US premier of Sherlock that they're showing doesn't seem to involve any of the cast or crew being present. D8)
