My friend's apartment was robbed yesterday. He lives in an old two story house that's been converted into two apartments, and no one was home yesterday morning. Apparently the people who did it kicked in a door to the downstairs apartment, stole some stuff from there, then went up the stairs inside, kicked out the bottom panel of the door leading ( Read more... )

Aw! I hope your mom gets healthy. That would be horrible to pass out! Glad you are at home with her today to keep watch.

That's why I have renters insurance. You can't beat $10/month insurance. especially if you've got some pricey things in your place that would be costly to replace.

heh, when nick's house was broken into a few months ago (kicked door in), they stole DVDs and canned goods...it was a bit odd, given all the electronics in the place

canned goods? damn. that is weird. maybe they were desperate for food. either that or they really liked the kind of canned goods he had, and figured as long as they were there, they'd take those too.

they didn't take the two TV sets that billy had (they did get his brand new DVD player, though)..I'm guessing those would've taken too long to haul out of an upstairs apartment.
