Well, I am finally getting around to post. I have been a but preoccupied with writing and posting fic when I do get a moment at the computer (i'm on my phone atm) because it's a good distraction, and I have ~ideas~ that won't leave me alone. But there's the usual busy-ness of work (back to school season and the start of seasonal depression) plus Girl Scout stuff starting
This has been a rough week, tho. I got stuck with an intake no one told me about and I didn't prepare for, and in the middle of it I got a call about Nick getting a high fever. Not acting sick, mind you, just a 103 fever out of nowhere. Jason took off that afternoon to take care of him, and yesterday too. Zach had an accident at school, and in the middle of Jason freaking out with stress yesterday, he realized we have no more hot water. The heater went kaput sometime yesterday afternoon. It was leaking, and the pilot light wouldn't turn back on. He shut off the gas and water valves into the heater, and he resigned himself to a cold shower this morning.
Only, there's no water coming out of the shower. Any of them. He had to wash his hair in the kitchen sink since the bathroom one isn't quite big enough for the splashing. And the kids were a whiny mess this morning, one and all.
I didn't escape unscathed, either. I slept through my alarms this morning, every last one of them, and the congestion I was fighting last week that was mostly gone decided to come back today. So my sinuses hurt, my upper molars hurt, my jaw aches, I feel run down, and I guess it's good that it was my turn to take off from work to wait for the plumber. Not looking forward to seeing what the bill looks like today. :(
