Driveby update

Sep 08, 2015 20:03

Oops, I didn't update non-fic stuff in quite a while. Most of the time weekends are spent more or less offline. I say more or less, because I can still check e-mail and occasionally Tumblr or Facebook on my phone. Or look up the occasional thing, but for the most part I don't actually do a lot of searching on it. I use it as a music player and ( Read more... )

Those all may not be "exciting" things in the typical sense of the word, but it sounds like a lot of good stuff to me!

It's a mommy's kind of excitement, I think. I get excited about Nick toddling around or Zach being dry for a while. But I'm not so over the top that I think everyone else will be. :)

Yay for the everyday kind of fun. Hahaha. I can get the drama from work and fic. :)

You strike a good balance! IDK, maybe it's cause no one else in my social circle has young kids (either irl or fannishly) and you don't post reams and reams (quite the opposite) so it's always interesting to read your snippets and not irritating, as I think some people get when they're overwhelmed with all their friends having babies at once. Also if I had three kids under the age of like six I'd be super excited about Zach being dry too :P

We were the first of our friends to have kids, too. One other couple of our old crew has a baby now. Maybe because we're on #3 and have always had to deal with it on our own, we kind of take all that drama in stride. Our friends have posted on Facebook about their son getting sick or not having a babysitter, and that's the kind of thing we just dealt with without whining about it. It's just life far away from family or the friends we had before. And I guess I don't think it's super exciting to hear about doing five loads of laundry during the day or vacuuming or dusting or clearing off space, as exciting as it can get for me to see the floor or kitchen counter. :)

Man, it will be SO EXCITING to have just one child in diapers. We totally forgot about potty training when I said I wanted another one. lol.

I suppose I can link a pic of all five of us at the amusement park. You can tell we geek out hard. :D

Thanks! it feels so busy at the time, but housework lists are boring as all get out. Routines are good, tho!

Maybe next year for our tenth anniversary we can plan ahead. :)

We're going to decide how to divvy up the holidays so I don't run out of ETO. Maybe we can visit Door County. It's supposed to be gorgeous, with vineyards and artsy places. It might be good for a romantic day trip. :)

Congratulations on the anniversary! and wow that sounds like a lot!

Clean is temporary. Sadly, swiftly transient. D: But nice for the time it is clean, lol.

Nine years married, fifteen together. Put like that, it definitely sounds like a lot! It doesn't feel like it, which I think is rather the point of marriage. You want someone you can share your life with, and it doesn't feel like a chore. That prolly doesn't sound terribly romantic, tho it's the day to day kind of thing that helps. We crash on the couch and watch TV or play video games together, or I do my fannish thing while he plays video games, and we sometimes get excited all about stuff or talk about Big Issues that crop up in the news. It's more of a slow crackling fire in winter than an inferno, if that makes sense? ^^;

It was clean for maybe ten minutes. Then the kids took out their toys to play and didn't put everything away. ::facepalm:: But for a while it was neat! :)

Great update! Sounds like a perfectly normal, happy family with growing chickenses to me! :D Maddy is probably ready for UNC! HA! Baby Tarheel in the making! xD

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! I do remember all of the shenanigans of getting ready for the wedding...we had just become friends. :)

Cleaning, pancakes, fun in the sun--you guys had a wonderful, family Labor Day weekend!

Now, if you had just included a pic... *g*

If they would let her skip a grade, she happily would have. So we try to supplement with harder books and concepts at home. Nit so much with math, because the Common Core math is messed up. :)

Was it then? It feels like longer than that! :) man, time really does fly...

I have a link to a pic in one of the comments here. It goes to a Facebook pic of all 5 of us. :)
