Driveby update

Oops, I didn't update non-fic stuff in quite a while. Most of the time weekends are spent more or less offline. I say more or less, because I can still check e-mail and occasionally Tumblr or Facebook on my phone. Or look up the occasional thing, but for the most part I don't actually do a lot of searching on it. I use it as a music player and camera more often than not with the kids. We've actually been pretty busy!

Madison has started first grade last week on September 1. She immediately declared it too easy, though she had been a little nervous before it started in case she didn't know the kids in her class. She knew four kids in her class, and one of her good friends is in the other class. Some other friends are at different schools. We still haven't been able to track down one of her friends from her kindergarten that she really would love to have play dates with and invite to her party. I tracked down everyone else but this one girl, and I don't have contact information for her for some reason. ^^;

Zachary had a stint of poor behavior right before the start of the school year, but that might be because of the teacher he really liked leaving. Once he was moved into the Upper Threes, that behavior stuff calmed right down. The director really appreciated that we were really involved and on top of it, and that I wanted to meet with her right away to try to coordinate efforts to get his behavior back on track. Right around the end of August we got frustrated at home with all the accidents he had, so we swapped him out to training pants and underwear. ::facepalm:: Well, he maybe had one or two accidents and needed to change clothes, but he's put far more effort into staying dry. Maybe he honestly couldn't feel the difference with Pull Ups, but he's doing better. We also have the added incentive of his ability to play on my kindle if he's dry all day. :)

Nicholas is fifteen months old! He graduated physical therapy because he cruises, creeps, is able to crawl, squat and has great coordinated movement. He just had to get his core muscles strengthened. He says two words, more and mama, and babbles and echoes us at times. It just isn't clearly actual words. His fifteen month check was today, and he's doing great. Eating and sleeping like a champ, still clingy, but moving around and with stronger reflexes when the doctor checked him out. She was so glad to see how far he's come in just a few months' time.

And September 4 was our nine year anniversary. Jason and I were both working that day, but we did cuddle and stuff over the weekend after the kids went to bed. :) This was also Labor Day Weekend, so there was much housecleaning, relaxing and playing with neighborhood kids. Because there wasn't going to be childcare available at church, we decided to skip. We're not subjecting our fellow parishoners to the little ones crawling and yammering away throughout the service and disrupting everyone. So we drove over to IHOP and then to an amusement park. It was hotter than we thought it was going to be, but the kids had lots of fun and relaxed a bit in the afternoon. There was so much done over the weekend, and the house looks great. At least until the kids play in it. ;)

So, that's pretty much it, I think. Hope you've all been doing well, too. :)
