How am I doing with my tightrope walking?
Work has been busy; apparently for March I was at 111% of expected capacity. Go figure. I've also had a lot of new intakes lately, as well as a second opinions no one really saw fit to inform me about until after I did it. Which I find just rude, really. And there will be another second opinion next week, though this time I got a short summary

So she's ahead in all those key areas, and yet still isn't being considered to move ahead. That sounds crazy to me, especially since her teacher apparently didn't discuss any of this with you. She should have at least kept in contact to let you know what Maddy's progress was and why she made that decision. That seems to be bad communitcation.

I wonder if the bad communication is more that they don't want to deal with me? Yanno, the big Mama Bear thing. I'm generally not that scary a person, but they might be concerned that I'd take it out on them if I don't like what they have to say? IDK.
My concern is for Maddy's welfare. She's the oldest in her class, which is mostly three year olds and a handful of younger fours. She's hanging out with younger kids, so she would act like them and have no reason to try to be more mature. I don't want her to become a bully, and she's already bossing around the the other kids or getting upset if she doesn't get her own way. And of course, the teachers only care about maturity in the sense of being still in the classroom and not bothering them. Yeah, maybe that's a little cynical, but I do see that with my older patients.

It's true. But if she's obviously doing well academically, then her social behavior shouldn't be as much as a big deal. Especially if they've pulled her out to speak with her one on one. Ugh, it sounds terrible. I'm sorry. *hug*
