This weather is bitterly cold. Nothing helps. It laughs at my futile attempts to wear wool pants. Oh no, those freeze, too.
Weather: *blows cold*
Me: But I'm wearing wool pants! And a coat! And gloves and my HP scarf!
Weather: *more wind*
Me: eeeeeeeek! *freezes*
Weather: bwahahahahaha!
Me: *runs into car/hospital/house*
And not only that, my hair perpetually generates static. I've shocked Hubby several times kissing him when I get home. :)
I'm on short call tonight. And since today was also an ECT day, that means I'm at work from 7 am to 11 pm. There MUST be something wrong with this picture. lol. When I spoke with the SIL on Wednesday, she thought my excitement about ECT was all kinds of weird. But it works, and it's always wonderfully amazing to see someone turn around and get better. Plus, these particular patients that I was talking about are fantabulous. One is my girl from the MICU that I saw while on the consult team. I'm the ECT resident now, so I've been doing her ECT. She's improved so much that they were able to get her up and walking, she fights us while delirious and curses us out. Yes, we're actually excited about being cursed out. :) In her case, it means she's on the mend and improving. Anger is such a wonderful motivating factor, and she's now in the vent unit and out of the MICU. yays! The other case I was talking about has lots of Issues aside from the depressive episode she's in. She's making a good and steady recovery, and it seems like she could be a good psychotherapy case for me to pick up. She's a really nice lady with a pretty debilitating bipolar depression and issues galore. We'll see how that works out.
Thanks to our complaints about hectic Sundays, there's now short calls on Sunday. And since it's the psych resident on the Neuro rotation that is doing it, that won't equal extra calls next year. Whee!
More house hunting this weekend. Hubby has saved me from caving in to being guilt-tripped this weekend. We're starting early tomorrow, and we'll see five houses. There may be gaming Sunday, the game to be determined. If Kevin shows up, we're picking up the Shadowrun game where we left off. If not, then we'll play Exalted. It's been at least a month since we've gamed. I'm looking forward to it.
