Back in the saddle

I've been ignoring LJ for the past few days, getting adjusted to the kids being out of school, trying not to get too bogged down in work, but hopefully I'm back to my old schedule. Well, close to it anyway.

I have a dentist appointment on Thursday because I've finally managed to reach a pain point that exceeds my anxiety. I have no idea if I'll need a crown or they can just redo the filling, but at least it's going to get fixed. I've been avoiding it since last fall, because in all honesty, it didn't hurt. It just annoyed. *Now*, it hurts.

In the meantime, I made these black bean tortas with coconut chipotle mayo tonight for dinner, and they were damn tasty. It's another Thug Kitchen recipe. Honestly, we've only had one dud so far out of all that we've tried. We've had so much flavor and ease with what we've loved, we're actually considering doing flip-flop weeks on our diet. Meaning, go one week vegan, one week with meat, and so on. I'm not sure I could give up salmon. Or souvlaki. Or a few other dishes that aren't vegan. But this seems like it might be a viable compromise.

What else has been going on? Oh, yeah, I've started editing for one of my publishers. I got approached when they lost a member on their team, so I decided to give it a shot. I'm a little nervous, but I love these people, and they're doing everything in their power to make the transition an easy one. My first author is someone I already know, and she's a breeze, so that's good. Plus, it's only very part-time. Just a handful of stories a month. Some extra spending money, more than anything else.

Now that school is out, I can finally crack down and start working on my merlinreversebb story. Which reminds me, I have to go check in with the mods on that. Oops.
