Costume update!

I got that dress draped and cut out yesterday evening, and tonight the dress is finished! I worked most of the day on it, but it's done, fits wonderfully, looks gorgeous, and I can't wait to work on the next part of the outfit. :) I'm also going to have to make a full-length slip for it if I want to wear it by its self (which I do), but I expected this, seeing as how it's a delicate white crape material.

The lace I'm using is this lovely, ridiculously soft cream lace with an all-over flower pattern that I picked up a few years ago in Mexico. I think it was a meter cut, and about 54" wide, so it worked perfect for the pseudo-kimono sleeves I did. Before I  cut the fabric though, I was holding it up to the dress, and, my god. It looked fantastic. I hadn't truly understood the appeal of a full-length dress with a cream lace overlay until I saw it in person, and, damn it, I want one now. I really love how the various lighting makes it look so different.

I wish I could find some more like it that won't cost me more than I have to my name right now. Per yard. Oh, well.
This outfit is gonna look super spiffy when it's done. XD
