Ooh, look! I'm actually ~doing~ something...
So after a very long hiatus, I'm back to sewing and making shit. Hurrah!
I'm actually following through on project ideas! That Middle Earth project I mentioned in the last post? It's going nicely, even without the films going in the background. I've been meaning to make a Mirkwood gown for some time, and I'd done a couple of designs. Well, I just started playing around with my dress form and some of the fabric I have on hand and I came up with a really neat design. Then I sketched it out.
Then I had an idea and grabbed a piece from a previous costume:

Other than all this I've been doing some much-needed organization and cleaning. I couldn't find any of (the five or so) fabric marking pencils that I have yesterday - not even the white ones, which wouldn't have helped anyway as what I wanted to mark was white fabric - and ended up going through ALL of my sewing stuff - every single bag, box, basket and shelf. No luck, but! I did get things all organized and spiffy, so at least there's that. :)And this morning/early afternoon I've gone through my closet and organized the shit in there - thrown out some stuff I've not worn for ages too! Hurrah for getting shit done!
