Stockholm -> Helsinki

I'm looking for information on how to get from Stockholm to Helsinki by ferry. I've heard Viking Line is the best way to go price-wise, but if anyone knows any other good options, I'd be interested in information/links

If you want the cheapest way, you may want to consider going via Turku. Turku ferry is significantly cheaper, and you can get train discount with the ferry ticket, which makes whole thing cheaper still. Also, there is a day ferry from Stockholm to Turku and it costs really really low, something like 15 dollars, but of course you will have to sleep in Turku in that case.

However, if you want comfort, you may want to treat Stockholm-Turku (or Helsinki) ferry as a hotel and pay for a cabin to spend a night in decent accommodation with shower. Otherwise you will feel rather like a homeless person, since you can only sleep on a chair somewhere or on the floor. Coach may be available but I would not bet on it, since there are not many of them in public areas. I saw people sleeping in sleeping bags on the floor by the stairs, etc. It all depends how badly do you want to save money vs. comfort. Difference in price is comparable to a hotel room fare.

I thought of that, but was worried about cutting our time in Helsinki short if we did it that way. I'll look into it though, since it seems like it will be much cheaper.

I didn't realize the cabins had showers! I think we'll be booking a cabin if we decide to just go from Stockholm -> Helsinki, since it seems to be worth it.

Yes, I took Silja line a few times between Stockholm and Helsinki and Stockholm and Turku, all cabins had showers. Reasonably sure Viking has showers, too, but you may want to check to make sure

Oh wow, it sounds like it'd be really easy to take it to Turku if we decided on that.

Silja sounds pretty amazing, though. I'd look into it if our budget were a bit more, haha.
