My digital camera is back from repairs, just in time for my trip to LA. In the process of cleaning my camera's sensor, I've discovered a worrying problem. It seems that there is a small air bubble in the low-pass filter which cuts out infrared light and protects the sensor. This bubble casts a shadow on the sensor, especially at smaller apertures and with wide angle lenses. As such, I'm going to have to send it in ( Read more... )

Yesterday's photo isn't one of my best, but serves more as a sample for shutter speed creativity. With nighttime photography, picking a white balance can be tricky. I posted one of these images around the start of the month, but I'm curious to hear which one people prefer. I've gone through a couple of iterations of methods for posting images online. Before Scrapbook started up, I hosted images on my .Mac account.
