Finally!
YES, YES, YES you were all right!
BBC's Sherlock Holmes is awesome. I think I may be in love.
Mind, I've only watched the first episode so far, but dayum.
And here are all my shallow fangirly reasons:
1. OMG sooooooo slashy!!!!!!
2. OMG Benedict Cumberbatch!!! (I thought he was lovely in Stuart:A Life Backwards, but here? RAWR)
3. YAY good new crime/mystery drama!!
4. OMG Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman!!! (Who I thought was totally miscast in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, but who is adorable and totally badass here)
Okay some of my favourite things about the episode: Afghanistan! I'm so glad they kept this in...and wow never was there a time where it made more sense. When the episode started I was all like, 'yay Generation Kill vibes!' (all my fandoms are crossing over these days, it's glorious).
Also cool that they stuck to canon with how Holmes and Watson were introduced.
The "date" in the restaurant. Dolphin like sounds could be heard coming from my bedroom.
Mycroft!! *flails* *chinhands* *heart eyes*....What a brilliant twist!
And okay, I wish the murder mystery had been just a tiny bit more intricate and properly serial killery, but that's just a quibble.
Also I'm not engaging in any "My Sherlock is better" silliness....I still love my RDJudsie version. But now Guy Ritchie needs to step it up and gay it up for the sequel.
Dammit, I really don't need another fannish love.
Between this, Merlin, Generation Kill, True Blood, Inception and especially Tom Hardy...I've never had so many fandoms at once.
And speaking of one of them, namely True Blood:
HOW AWESOME IS HIS HIGHNESS KING RUSSELL EDGINGTON? Besides the last ten minutes of last week's episode I especially enjoyed by new OTP Russell/Talbot-Remains-In-Fancy-Crystal-Urn.....only the best for our dearly missed Talbot.
And boooo to Franklin going out like that. I loved that psycho so much.
But yay for lovely Pam/Eric and Jessica/Hoyt interactions.
And even though this has nothing to do with the topic, I am still on a mission to convert everyone to this:
