Colin and Bradley: A Bromance

Sep 12, 2009 11:19

Ok so I guess most of you have read this very interesting Merlin interview here. (thanks to feilongfan for the heads up).

It's interesting that the Daily Mail chose to focus almost solely on the relationship between Colin and Bradley.
I'm no fan of the term 'bromance', but this made me squee a bit:

"They have a love-hate relationship in TV drama Merlin but star Bradley James admits in real life he and his co-star Colin Morgan have a "bromance"."

However, the next bit here has me a bit dismayed that they're already on the defensive about the Colin/Bradley stuff and not just taking it as a joke.

"The actor, who plays Prince Arthur alongside Morgan's lead Merlin, insists he and his opposite number have bonded in the tradition of the new American concept - when two blokes become close without anything 'going on'."

Bradley:""I suppose that it is a bromance. I heard that term for the first time recently in America.
"You could describe it that way. So long as it's not taken too literally."

It seems to me they've become very aware of the C/B phenomenon, and Bradley feels the need to set the record straight. Fair enough I suppose.

The interview has loads of other fun info, like Colin getting Richard Wilson to go on Space Mountain and Colin's brother Neil being an extra throughout an episode :D
