Right.
Am back in the flat, thank God. It's still a mess, and they have taken away the radiator (apparently the halogen lights in the ceiling will prevent any extremities succumbing to frostbite in the pre-shower frostiness of January. Question: is this going to work?). Have spotted a gorgeous, bigger flat, with a roof terrace overlooking the heath, with a bath and everything, but it will increase my rent by 50%. Question: Am I just being too darn sensible in vetoing moving in there, or is is plain recklessness to move in somewhere that is lovely, but one and a half times as expensive as the last place? So far, I have to say, pragmatism is winning, and that really is a stop-the-press statement...if anyone has seen Avenue Q, they will understand what I mean when I say that I don't have any bad idea bears sitting on my shoulders, I am a bad idea bear....
And, am very excited; the V&A website has posted a bunch of 1940s Jaegar knitting patterns, so I have dowloaded the more interesting ones (including a balaclava helmet with ear-flaps) and intend to get down with the needles. Expect bizarre but heartfelt Christmas presents!
