Good news! I might be able to move back home again on Monday!
Even better news! No-one I have stayed with has actively tried to kill me yet! (though am suspecting it was a close call when I mistakenly took the boy-monkey's coffee...)
Slightly better news! After a week of unusually intense activity, I am going to my mum's for the weekend.
This past week has been, as I said, intense. Monday and Tuesday were days three and four of our Four-Day Family Fun Festival! !!!!! !! !!!!! in the courtyard, which of course was fantastic, and would have been much more fantastic if my office window doesn't overlook the courtyard, where over 8,000 kiddies and parents were screaming, hollering, shouting, generally sounding like a nether region of hell, possibly reserved for infanticides and american right-to-lifers who bomb family planning clinics. Add to this aural tsunami 5 performances a day of a (actually rather cool) dance that was set to a brass band that marched around the courtyard. And of course, who was on phone duty for those two days? Yep.
Ad I got closer to complete nervouse breakdown, I ws reminded that I was to present the morning session of the Induction day, for the first time. Yikes. As it turns out, I was naturally fabulous, but stress! Stress!
And then I set the alarm off on the flat I was crashing at...no major problems, but it wasn't conducive to a calm, restful peaceful evening.
Despite all this, I can only be glad that people are prepared to put up with me staying; i wouldn't have faniced doing all this and then going back to a hostel, or Saffa party house.
And now, with my flat so nearly back in my grubby little mitts, I need your help. I need exciting recipes for summer. For to feed my lovely friends.
Gimme!
